About Course
Lead your U.S. classroom with calm, clarity, and confidence.
Behavior looks different in every educational system. In U.S. schools, teachers are expected to prevent and redirect most day-to-day behavior themselves, using proactive, universal Tier 1 strategies, before any extra support is added. This course gives international educators the practical tools to do that with dignity and consistency.
You will learn how the U.S. three-tiered system (MTSS and PBIS) works, how to teach routines from Day 1, and how to use proximity, nonverbal cues, behavior-specific praise, choice giving, and private correction. You will rehearse a calm 5-step response to student conflict, then leave with three tools of your own: a Proximity Practice Plan, a Behavior Response Script, and a Personal Tier 1 Toolkit.
What is included: a video lesson, a 16-page fillable JOY workbook, a reading and Apply It worksheet for your own school and students, a 10-question knowledge check, and a JOY Certificate of Completion. About 2 hours, self-paced.
